04/Stewardship
The principal stays in the work.
Servant leadership is not a tone of voice. It is who gets the best hour of the week, and which messages get excellence even when the invoice would not impress a banker.
For owners
Fractional judgment. Fingerprints on it.
For a company that has outgrown improvisation and does not want a rented name. He advises, then stays until the system is something the team can run. The recommendation is close enough to the problem to have a point of view. The weeks are long because the work is consecutive. The system is what is left when the week is over.
For a message of hope
Mission over margins.
Alongside the paid work, the firm gives sites, media, and time to organizations it believes in. Nonprofits, churches, and community life. The same craft as the commercial work. Often a different invoice. Payroll is still a moral fact. The value is that some messages do not have to clear a market rate before they are allowed to be excellent.
The best hour, when no one is applauding.
Years of production and technical work for church and community organizations sit beside the agency. Events. Film. The unglamorous spine that lets a room full of people hear one another. That work trained the muscle clients hire: make the important thing unmistakable.
A year is also defined by refusal. What the company will not buy, will not hire, and will not announce. Every brief includes a do-not. Compounding is quieter than a rebrand, and it is the thing that still shows up on a Tuesday.
If you want a principal in the work, say so directly.
